In some cases milk was employed to produce a luster effect on the glass. They sooner or later ended up termed Kakamba Prosser beads, named after the town within the Republic of Congo in which they ended up traded. Prosser beads started to drop away from favor from the early 1900’s when extra elaborate glass bead designs were introduced in Africa.
